As part of a personal concept and modeling project, I designed and built a game-ready futuristic firearm inspired by the "Splitstream" weapon from Splitgate 2. This dual-form weapon can function in akimbo mode for high-speed engagements or combine into a single, more accurate configuration for precision shooting.
The goal was to create a flexible sci-fi weapon asset that blends modularity with visual clarity, while maintaining real-time performance for use in first- or third-person shooters.
Responsibilities:
• Designed a modular sci-fi weapon system with two functional configurations: akimbo and combined.
• Modeled both forms using a high-to-low poly workflow with clean topology and efficient UVs.
• Developed PBR textures with a futuristic material language, focusing on emissive elements, worn surfaces, and high-tech materials.
• Worked through the full asset pipeline: concept interpretation, modeling, retopology, UV mapping, baking, and texturing.
• Built with gameplay readability in mind, ensuring each form feels mechanically distinct and visually coherent.
Key Achievements:
• Delivered a modular, game-ready sci-fi weapon system optimized for real-time engines.
